Ananas Handbags, Organic Exotic Carry-Alls

Ananas, a collection of handbags by designer Jennifer Baum Lagdameo are any indication, the next big thing in luxury accessories may be bags with a somewhat natural, exotic vibe. Due to time spent in Japan and the Philippines, Lagdameo has let the natural beauty and diverse cultures of those locales influence the design of her unique vintage-inspired, organic-looking purses. Most of her bags pair soft, luxurious leathers with hardware fashioned from polished woods, or even coconut or mother-of-pearl shells. A selected few of her purses even feature fabric made from abaca fiber, from a banana plant indigenous to the Philippines. Her recent range of handbags run the gamut from chic little clutches to roomy totes, all featuring offbeat shapes and piecing, and rich color offerings, from rich neutrals like brown, tan, gray and that perennial fashion favorite, basic black, to bright orange, red, and blue, and beyond.
